Visitor Information

visitor information

We know that having family and friends nearby helps your child heal. You have the right to choose and list visitors. We encourage you, as your child’s legal guardian, to stay with them throughout their stay, unless it affects your child’s health or the rights or safety of other patients.

Visitor Guidelines

To provide a restful and safe environment, we ask that visitors follow these guidelines:

  • Ask friends and family not to visit if they are sick.
  • Please remember to be quiet to help respect the healing of all patients.
  • Remind family and friends about any allergies your child has before they bring foods or other items that might trigger allergies.
  • Remind visitors to wash their hands when entering patient rooms.
  • Remind your family and friends that if they bring children, they are responsible for watching them.
  • Discuss plans for visitors with your care team. Visitors under age 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Smoking and vaping are not allowed on hospital campuses.
  • No latex balloons are allowed on campus. Mylar balloons are fine.
  • No potted plants are allowed on campus.
  • Service animals are allowed on site, but please do not bring pets with you to the hospital. Children’s Health will follow all American with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements to address exclusions related to service animals. Please ask your care team for additional details.
  • Don’t leave charging electronic devices on patient beds.

Please note: All visitor guidelines and restrictions are subject to change as recommendations by the CDC are updated.

Visitor Screening

The safety of our patients, their families, visitors and our team members is our number one priority. We continue to monitor COVID-19 cases and update any safety precautions as necessary. Go to childrens.com/covid-19/safety-measures for the full list of safety measures.
