Dallas 

Our 17,000-square-foot courtyard and all-abilities playground opened in June 2022. The space repurposes what was once the hospital’s main entrance to provide team members, patient families and visitors with an outdoor space for renewal and relaxation away from clinical areas. The recreation center is accessible from the Butterfly Atrium and Starbucks and is open 24/7. 

Amenities include: 

• about 3,000 square feet of shade canopies that resemble a butterfly’s wings when viewed from floors above 
• a central artificial turf lawn and rolling hills with rubberized surfacing 
• eight built-in child-friendly musical instruments, including chimes, drums and bells 
• pleasant nighttime lighting 
• an upgraded park for therapy dogs, providing a quiet place of respite for the animals and their handlers

Plano 

The All-Abilities Women’s Auxiliary Playground covers 6,315 square feet and includes 29 pieces of equipment and panels. The layout provides two separate play areas: the 2- to 5-year-old area to the East and the 5- to 12-year-old area to the West.  

The all-abilities playground equipment engages children’s sight, touch and hearing to create a range of stimulating play experiences. It also includes climbing, swinging and spinning components to develop various skill sets.
